A storm, possibly a tornado, ripped through Wilkes Barre Township in Luzerne County just after 10 p.m. Wednesday night, knocking down light poles and buildings, according to emergency reports.

Building collapses were reported at Panera Bread and Barnes and Noble, with multiple people trapped. Building collapses were also reported at Dicks Sporting Goods, Lowe’s, Smokey Bones and Ashley Furniture.

Crews were on scene throughout the night.
