Berlinsville rolls past Limeport in Blue Mtn. League

The Berlinsville Braves used a big inning to defeat the Limeport Bulls in Blue Mountain League action on Thursday.

Jim Thorpe also posted a pair of Connie Mack wins.

BLUE MTN. LEAGUE

Berlinsville-Limeport

The Berlinsville Braves scored six runs in the sixth inning to snap a tie and gain a 7-1 victory over the Limeport Bulls.

Cody Krupa (Northern Lehigh graduate) had three hits and knocked in three runs for the winners, who improved to 4-7.

The Braves also received three hits and two RBIs from Kyle Buchman.

Matt Minchhoff (Tamaqua grad) pitched five innings, allowing three hits and one run to earn the victory. He walked two and struck out two.

Tyler Svetik (Palmerton grad) picked up the save, tossing two scoreless frames. Svetik allowed one hit and fanned two.

The Bulls fell to 5-4.

LEHIGH VY. LEAGUE

Carbon-Coplay

Coplay scored a run in the bottom of the seventh inning to earn a walk-off win over Carbon.

The Monarchs took a 6-5 lead in the top of the sixth inning with two runs. But Coplay answered with one run in each of the final two innings to pull out the victory.

Logan Pagotto was 2-for-2 with a double, run scored and walk for Carbon, while Justin Marykwas went 2-for-4 with two runs scored. Daniel Keer had a triple and two RBIs, and Zach Searfoss added a hit and scored a run while also recording two walks.

Pen Argyl-Jim Thorpe

Jim Thorpe topped Pen Argyl 10-0,

Jared Marykwas was the winning pitcher, throwing a one-hit shutout while striking out six to bring Jim Thorpe’s record to 3-4. Spencer Hunsicker doubled and tripled, while Ian Hubbard smoked a bases- clearing three-run triple. Michael Cadugan-Dougherty and Jared Joyce each drove in two runs.

Jim Thorpe beat Stroudsburg 4-1 in a game that took place June 4.

James Lordi struck out nine in 5 1/3 innings to earn the win on the mound. Colin Binder got the final five outs, picking up the save.

Binder also drove in two runs, while Jared Marykwas had two hits.

Hellertown-Jim Thorpe

Hellertown rolled to a 12-4 win over Jim Thorpe on June 3.

Jared Joyce went 2-for-3 with an RBI double, while Evan Dart had a two-run double for Jim Thorpe. James Lordi doubled for the final Thorpe hit.

Jim Thorpe-Palmerton

Palmerton edged Jim Thorpe 5-2 in a contest that took place May 30.

Hunter Fristick was the winning pitcher, coming one out away from a complete game. Ethan Steinmetz was 3-for-3 for Palmerton, while Lucas Sangiuliano had two hits and scored two runs.

Jared Marykwas threw a complete game in the loss. Drew Frank and DJ Richebacher drove in the runs for Thorpe.
