An outpatient psychiatry program in Bowmanstown will be temporarily closed until a new psychiatrist can be brought into the fold.
A component of the Blue Mountain Health System Behavioral Health Adult Partial Hospitalization Program and Outpatient Psychiatry Practice, located in the Bowmanstown Medical Plaza, 512 Bank St, will shut down in the interim.
Sam Kennedy, corporate communications director for St. Luke’s University Health Network, said the Outpatient Psychiatry Program will shut down temporarily as of June 12.
“We need to temporarily close the Outpatient Psychiatry Program until we can recruit a new psychiatrist, as the program psychiatrist is relocating to another area,” Kennedy said. “We are notifying patients and providing information so that patients may make a new provider selection.”
Kennedy added, “The Adult Partial Hospitalization Program will continue to operate and see patients.”
The Acute Partial Hospitalization Program for adults is a nonresidential intensive, and multidisciplinary program serving adults 18 years and older with mental health disorders.
The program is a distinctive level of care providing extension clinical services on an individualized basis.
It is an alternative to hospitalization for clients not requiring 24-hour supervision but still requiring a high degree of therapeutic support.
