Tamaqua’s Thad Zuber will continue his academic and football careers at Division 3 Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
Zuber played varsity baseball, football and basketball all four years at Tamaqua.
In football, he was a team captain. In addition, he was named to the Times News, Hazleton Standard Speaker and Pottsville Republican All-Star teams in his junior and senior seasons. He also participated in the Schuylkill County All Star game as a senior.
Zuber excelled in basketball, where he was a Times News and Hazleton Standard Speaker All Star as a sophomore, junior and senior; a Pottsville Republican All-Star as a junior and senior; and an Allentown Morning Call All Star as a sophomore and senior. He finished his career with over 1,000 points.
On the diamond, Zuber was a team captain. He was a Pottsville Republican All Star as a junior.
Zuber is just as accomplished in the classroom, where he is a member of the National Honor Society; Science National Honor Society (President); Math National Honor Society (President); English National Honor Society; Spanish National Honor Society; Tamaqua Area Student Government; Student Advisory Board; Physics Club; Chemistry Club (Secretary); World Language Club; Biology Club; and the Honor Card Review Committee.
In the community, Zuber was a participant on the Schuylkill County Clean-Up Competition, a Good News Day Camp Volunteer Leader (2013-17); a volunteer for several Tamaqua Youth Basketball Camps (2013-17); a Tamaqua Elementary School Olympic Day Volunteer (2011-17); and a member of the Tamaqua Historical Society.
The son of Steve and Wanda Zuber, Thad will major in Chemical Engineering.
