Domestic dispute lands man in jail

A domestic dispute in Tamaqua on Sunday sent Brian Keith Woods, 53, of Tamaqua to the Schuylkill County Prison in Pottsville.

Officers were called to the 300 block of West Broad Street, Tamaqua, at 2:50 p.m., for what was termed a violent domestic dispute. The victim, who had fled to a residence in the 400 block of West Broad, said Woods became very upset when he was told to get out of her apartment. He began destroying the place, ripping an air conditioner out of a window, throwing it into the yard. At one point, he bit the victim’s face. He went outside, yelling and screaming, threatening everyone who was around.

Woods was found at a location in the 200 block of West Broad, in a highly intoxicated state, and transported to the police station.

He was arraigned before duty District Magisterial Judge Christina Hale on charges of simple assault, making terroristic threats, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.

Bail was set at $15,000 percentage, which he was unable to post.
