A Schuylkill County motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash on Saturday evening.
State police at Frackville said Brian Leonard, 50, of Zion Grove, was operating a 2011 Harley Davidson Sportster 1200 westbound on Miller’s Road in North Union Township, at 6:40 p.m. and approaching a curve. Troopers said Leonard was unable to negotiate the curve and strayed off the right side of the road and hit gravel. The front wheel of the bike then struck a large boulder causing it to flip over throwing Leonard about 40 feet. Leonard landed in the front yard of 365 Miller’s Road and was knocked unconscious. He was not wearing a helmet and sustained head injuries. The bike came to rest about 30 feet west of the initial point of impact. It sustained severe damages and was towed.
Leonard was flown by medical helicopter to the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, with serious injuries, troopers said.
