Class of 1955
Palmerton Class of 1955 will meet for lunch at 12:30 p.m. May 24 at Pappy’s School House Tavern, 4740 Long Run Road, Lehighton. Call Dorothy at 610-826-4751.
Gaming Grotto
The Gaming Grotto will be held at The Fire Escape Coffee House, Delaware Avenue in Palmerton on Friday from 7-11 p.m. This is a great family friendly event. Come out and enjoy the food, the people and play some games, ranging from board games, to video games, and even an RPG group.
First UCC
First United Church of Christ, 457 Delaware Ave., Palmerton will hold worship services at 9 a.m. on Sunday. On this Pentecost Sunday, Confirmation will be held. Chris Walkowiak will be Confirmed. To celebrate this achievement, a brunch will be held after the service.
On June 10, First UCC will recognize graduates. Please contact the office at 610-826-2696 to let them know from where you are graduating and what your future plans are. This is for all levels of education.
Heritage center
The current exhibit at the Palmerton Heritage Center, 410 Delaware Ave., Palmerton features paintings by local artist Mary Kocher. The center is open various hours Wednesday through Saturday. Call 610-824-6954 for each day’s schedule. Or try the door; if it is unlocked, someone is there to show you around.
The Reading Chain
Sign up now for The Reading Chain at the Palmerton Area Library, 402 Delaware Ave., Palmerton. Add a link for each book you read from June 1 through Sept. 1. Prizes will be awarded in five age groups, preschool through adult. Check out all the library activities at www.palmertonarealibrary.com. Get your library bumper sticker now.
Swim team
The Palmerton Swim Team will have a meet and greet registration during a dine and donate evening at Joey B’s, 638 Delaware Ave., Palmerton from 4 to 9 p.m. May 29.
Community meal
A free community meal will be held at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 365 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton from 4 to 6 p.m. on May 24. Come out and enjoy a free meal and fellowship.
Breakfast
An all-you-can-eat breakfast will be held from 8 a.m. to noon Sunday at the Bowmanstown Rod & Gun Club, 525 Club Road, Palmerton. Buffet items include eggs to order, potatoes, ham, bacon, sausage, hash, cereal, juice, coffee, plus more.
Wing, taco and clam specials are every Wednesday night from 5 to 8 p.m. Dinners are served every Friday from 4 to 8 p.m.
