Lehighton’s softball team rolled to a win over Panther Valley on Monday.

SOFTBALL

Lehighton-Panther Vy.

A big game from Samantha Gruber helped Lehighton close its season with a convincing 15-2 non-league win over Panther Valley.

Gruber went 3-for-3 at the plate, scored three runs, and knocked in two. She also pitched all seven innings, allowing five hits and no walks while striking out eight.

The Indians, who broke open a close contest with a pair of five-run innings in the sixth and seventh, also received three hits, two runs, and two RBIs from Rachel Serfass.

Heidi Greene and Becky Serfass each added two hits and two RBIs for Lehighton (7-13).

For the Panthers (7-13), Sydney Clouser had two hits and scored a run.

Weatherly-Tri-Valley

Tri-Valley posted a 9-1 Schuylkill League win over Weatherly.

River Deeter had two hits and scored four runs for the Bulldogs, while Jacey Roth pitched a four-hitter.

The Wreckers are now 7-11 this season.

Salem Christian

Weatherly swept a doubleheader against Salem Christian.

The Wreckers (7-10) won the first game by a 7-3 score as Jeremy Moser collected three hits, one a double, and scored a run.

A.J. Knepper slugged a homer and knocked in three, while Gary Buck had two hits and two RBIs.

In the second game, Moser had three more hits and two runs in a 10-2 win.

Kevin Osifat and Fernando Palanco each had two hits and two runs, while Steph Yurchak finished with two hits, one a homer, and three RBIs.
