A large barn was destroyed by fire late Saturday night in Chestnuthill Township.

The barn is on the Altemose farm along Altemose drive.

Fire companies from throughout Monroe county battled the blaze for hours.

An adjacent structure was also heavily damaged in the blaze. The flames could be seen for miles.
