Artisans nationwide donated empty bowls for this year’s Empty Bowl Dinner held Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church in Tamaqua. Organizer Judy Brennan said the event — which helps benefit Tamaqua food banks and the 300 families who depend on them — has grown considerably. Local ceramics students, local artisans and even contributors from North Carolina provided bowls. Each handmade bowl cost $15 and included samplings of the dozens of soups available at the dinner.
