A Northampton County woman is charged with bringing illegal drugs into the state prison in Schuylkill County,
State police at Frackville said Michele George, 40, of Nazareth, has been charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, contraband, both felonies; and possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.
According to troopers, at 12:10 p.m. Saturday they were called to the state correctional institution in Ryan Township (Frackville), for a visitor bringing drugs into the prison.
An investigation revealed that George placed three bundles of synthetic cannabis, known as K-2, inside her body cavity before entering the prison. Once inside the visitor’s bathroom, she removed the bundles and passed them to an inmate.
She was arraigned before a district judge and released on $25,000 unsecured bail.
