April 25, 1969 — Sam Kitchko’s pitching and a homer off the bat of Jim Secara carries Panther Valley to a 2-0 victory over Pottsville. Kitchko tosses six and two-thirds innings of shutout ball before needing relief help from George Chupa, who strikes out the final batter with the bases loaded. Kitchko allows just four hits and strikes out two. Secara, after a walk to Dennis Grejda, belts his two-run homer in the first inning to provide the game’s only scoring.
