A home sustained minor damage following a fire Sunday evening in Lehighton.
Borough fire Chief Patrick Mriss said firefighters arrived at the home at 107 Alum St. around 6 p.m.
Upon arrival, Mriss said firefighters encountered light smoke conditions throughout the house.
Mriss said the matter occurred as the result of a cooking incident.
“We were there just to check for extension and ventilate the building,” Mriss said.
No one was injured as a result of the incident, he said.
Mriss said the home sustained moderate damage, as the fire was held to the kitchen area.
He said firefighters remained on scene for about a half-hour.
