Water main break results in 2-hour delay at elementary school

A water main break this morning resulted in a two-hour delay with modified kindergarten at Panther Valley Elementary School.

The break occurred on Coal Street in Nesquehoning, and required the water that goes to the building to be shut off, according to Superintendent Dennis Kergick.

“We anticipate just going with the two-hour delay, and everything should be copacetic,” Kergick said.

At 8:20 a.m., the district posted the following message on its website:

“The water is working and we will open today. Thanks to the crew that worked to get things up and running ASAP.”

Panther Valley Junior/Senior High School and Panther Valley Intermediate School operated on a normal schedule.
