Lehighton residents should be wary of people posing as borough utility workers.
The borough police department said that on Thursday, two white males posed as borough utility workers to gain entry into a home to check the water.
Police urged residents to not let anyone into their homes, and to check with their utility company to verify workers in the area.
If not, they are asked to contact local authorities immediately.
Efforts to reach borough police Chief Brian Biechy this morning were unsuccessful.
Contacted this morning, borough manager Nicole Beckett attempted to alleviate any concerns.
“Any of our workers do have identification badges to prove that they’re employees of the borough, and all of our equipment, all of our trucks, are marked,” Beckett said.
