April 5, 1982 — Northern Lehigh and Northwestern battle to a split in their Centennial League track and field meet. Derrick Fatzinger and Brian Waylen both win a pair of individual events to lead the Bulldog boys to a 94-56 victory. Fatzinger captures the 200 and 400, while Waylen claims the 800 and high jump. Craig Scheffler adds a win in the 100 and takes part on two winning relay teams. In the girls meet, a 90-51 Northwestern victory, the Tigers’ Kathy Harrison and Denise Wenhold each post three wins. Harrison takes the 100, 200 and 400, while Wenhold breaks the tape in the 800, 1600 and 3200. The winners also receive two firsts from Sharon Ziegler (shot, discus) and Dena Hoffman (hurdles).
