Marian graduate and former Times News Baseball Player of the Year Joe Nahas is having an outstanding spring as a member of the Chesapeake College Skipjacks.
The right-handed pitcher is currently 4-0 with a 1.29 ERA. The former Colt hurler has tossed 28 inning, striking out 56 while walking 12.
In one game, an 8-3 win against Anne Arundel Community College, Nahas pitched a complete game and recorded all 21 outs via the strikeout. He followed that contest with a complete-game 3-1 victory over Rockland Community College in which he allowed just four hits and two walks while fanning 13.
Nahas, a sophomore, earned the National Junior College Athletic Association Pitcher of the Week award for his 21-strikeout game.
Chesapeake currently owns a 16-3 record, including a 5-0 mark in their conference.
