Woman asks cop to retrieve her drugs

A Summit Hill woman was cited by Coaldale Police after a traffic stop in the borough on Feb. 25.

Dana McFadden, 26, was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped for a traffic violation. She initially wouldn’t provide identification and was asked to get out of the car. When she did, officers noticed a bulge in her pocket, which turned out to be a syringe containing suspected heroin residue. Two plastic bags with residue were also found on her.

When told she was going to be arrested, McFadden asked the officer to grab her bag off the back seat of the car. Right next to the handbag was a black zippered pouch which contained five hypodermic needles, a spoon and 30 bags of suspected heroin.

She was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
