State police at the Lehighton barracks are investigating the theft of nine propane tanks from a site in Ross Township.

The victim is the Sunoco Gas Station in the 800 block of the Wilkes-Barre Turnpike in the township.

Police said the incident happened at 2:03 a.m. March 18 when someone removed a lock from a propane storage cage and stole the tanks.
