Jim Thorpe police said a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle Sunday afternoon in the borough.

Police were dispatched at 2 p.m. to the 300 block of North Street for a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.

Police said James Fitzpatrick, 41, of Jim Thorpe, was standing on a utility trailer when he was struck by the passenger side mirror of a vehicle traveling south on North Street.

Fitzpatrick sustained minor injuries as a result of the incident.

The vehicle, described as an older model red/maroon single cab Chevrolet pickup, did not stop after striking Fitzpatrick and fled the scene.
