A 20-year-old woman from Piscataway, New Jersey, died as a result of a snowboarding accident on Wednesday at the Blue Mountain Ski Area, 1660 Blue Mountain Drive, Lower Towamensing Township, Palmerton.

Lehigh County Coroner Scott M. Grim reported Euna Shin was pronounced dead at 5:36 p.m. Thursday at the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, Salisbury Township.

Grim said the cause of death was attributed to head injuries the woman sustained from a fall. The death was ruled accidental.

Police said the incident occurred at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday while Shin was snowboarding.

State police at the Lehighton barracks, who cover that jurisdiction, said they were not called to the scene.
