State police at the Lehighton barracks are seeking the whereabouts of Tyrone Nelson Mertz, also known as Tye Mertz and Frank Leeland, after a terroristic threats incident at 1:45 a.m. Sunday in the 600 block of Oak Street in Bowmanstown.

Police said it is alleged he threatened a 51-year-old woman and an 11-year-old girl, both from Bowmanstown, with a large steak knife before fleeing the scene before the arrival of police.

Police said Mertz currently has active warrants out against him in Jim Thorpe and Easton.

Charges for the Bowmanstown incident will be filed in Magisterial District Office 56-3-02, police said.
