The Tamaqua Elks Club presented a check for $1,500 to the Tamaqua Remembers Committee last Thursday in support of the group’s efforts to create a month long celebration for the 150th observance of Memorial Day. The funds will be used to offset costs of creating a mural on a concrete wall on Cottage Avenue in Tamaqua, directly across from the Elks Lodge. Representing the lodge are Bill Fritzinger and Pete Bieniek, while Cameo Semasek and Justin Bailey are members of the Tamaqua Remembers Committee. KATHY KUNKEL/TIMES NEWS
