The following schedule changes have been announced due to Friday’s winter storm.

• All Carbon County Offices will be closing at 12:30 p.m. Friday.

• Pleasant Valley Elementary has postponed the father/daughter dance that was scheduled for tonight. It will be held Friday, March 16.

• The World Day of Prayer Service scheduled for this evening at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Franklin Township has been canceled due to the weather. Organizers ask that those who had planned to attend instead pray for the people in Suriname and the rest of the world.

• The Kettle Creek Environmental Education Center’s Public Maple Sugaring Day has been changed to Saturday, March 10, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and the Art Opening for Nancy Hopping’s Living with Wildlife exhibit has been changed to Friday, March 9, from 5-7 p.m.

• The Weeklings show scheduled for Friday night at Mauch Chunk Opera House has been canceled.

• Carbon County Community Transit Shared Ride service is canceled to Albrightsville and Palmerton. Passengers which have already been dropped off in those locations will have return trips only.
