Police called to harassment cases

Three incidents of harassment necessitated responses by state police at the Lehighton barracks recently.

On Feb. 13 at 11:32 p.m., police were called to the 300 block of Bridge Street, Weissport, after a verbal argument turned physical. Police said a 29-year-old Weissport man was cited for harassment after he punched a 49-year-old Weissport man in the forehead, causing a small cut.

The second case involved two juveniles and happened at 1:16 p.m. Feb. 18 in the 200 block of Franklin Street, Weissport.

Police said a 14-year-old boy from Northampton struck a 12-year-old girl from Northampton with an open hand.

In the third incident, police said a 27-year-old male from Kunkletown will be charged with harassment after a verbal argument turned physical at 12:32 a.m. Feb. 25 at on Kings Way in Polk Township. Police said the victim is a 54-year-old man who was assaulted by the accused.
