A woman was injured after she attempted to pass a tractor trailer in Jim Thorpe Friday night.

Borough police were dispatched at 9:02 p.m. to a crash in Hazard Square, according to a news release.

Police said a tractor trailer being driven by Andrew Girard, 36, of Coaldale, was making a right-hand turn on Lehigh Avenue when a vehicle driven by Gladymar Sanchez Perez, 25, of Slatington, attempted to pass the tractor trailer on the right, causing her vehicle to roll on its side.

Sanchez Perez was taken to St. Luke’s Gnaden Huetten Campus in Lehighton for injuries she sustained.

Girard was not injured.

Charges are pending upon completion of the crash investigation.
