The Carbon chamber is you super-connector
Super-connectors know everyone and everyone knows them. They build relationships very quickly and with a lot of people. Super-connectors are invaluable. They match people with opportunities and, in doing so, they leave their connections with a positive opinion of them and their abilities to make those connections.
Being a super-connector is not easy because it requires the unique ability to understand someone’s needs moments after you meet them. They know what each of their connections are capable of and who is in their network. They can instantaneously connect people or businesses based on their needs and talents.
The Carbon Chamber and Economic Development Corp. is your super-connector. We introduce you to a network of professionals that you may not have had the opportunity to meet on your own. Being associated with the chamber gives you credibility and value and shows that just by your association with the chamber, you are a serious professional and someone who can be trusted.
Here at CCEDC we consider ourselves to be servant leaders. One of the first questions we ask when meeting someone for the first time is “How can we help you?” This enables us to determine exactly what your needs are and helps us to create a relationship by helping you to address those needs.
We like to stay informed about everything that we possibly can. What is happening in Carbon County, what do our members need and which members can we connect them with that can provide solutions for those needs. Alternatively, we can also offer solutions by providing low interest loans through our in-house loan programs, helping organizations to apply for grants or put you in touch with the Small Business Development Center at Wilkes University and hosting new entrepreneur workshops right here in the county.
What is happening in Carbon County is important to you therefore it is even more important to us. What our members are doing at any given time, what are their future plans, where do they plan to be in the next year and beyond and how we can help them get there are what we ask ourselves every day.
Another aspect of being a super-connector is FaceTime. Talking and meeting with our members personally ensures that we always stay in touch and reminds them that we are available when they need us.
Taking advantage of chamber networking events is extremely important to you as a member. These events enable you to meet other businesses in a social setting. Getting to know someone and expanding your network is important. As you know yourself, you feel more comfortable doing business with someone you know on a personal level then a stranger. Just like a lot of business is conducted on the golf course, you don’t have to know how to play golf to use the super-connector abilities of the chamber!
“To strengthen your interpersonal influence, don’t win arguments. Instead, win hearts and minds.” — Mark Goulston,
