A Palmer Township man has been charged for his role in a fatal crash in Lynn Township over the summer.
The Office of the District Attorney sent out a release on Friday announcing that Alan Bruce Mannon, 66, has been charged with one count each of homicide by vehicle, involuntary manslaughter; recklessly endangering another person; reckless driving; and other charges.
At 8:25 a.m. June 23, Pennsylvania State Police from the Fogelsville barracks were dispatched to a crash on Route 309 in the area of Gun Club Road in Lynn Township.
Trooper Stephen Florey reported a Dodge Nitro SUV in the left northbound lane on its left side.
Mannon was the driver and sole occupant.
Another vehicle, a Chevrolet Malibu, was located in the northbound lanes of traffic facing northeast.
The operator of that vehicle, Dennis Bray, 67, of Andreas, was in the driver’s seat of the Malibu.
Bray died at the scene of injuries sustained in the crash.
Police said before the collision, Mannon was traveling northbound in the southbound lane of Route 309 as he approached Gun Club Road.
At the same time, Bray was traveling southbound in the southbound lane.
The two vehicles collided, resulting in Bray’s death.
Police said Mannon was grossly negligent in traveling in the wrong lane, and this was the cause of the crash.
