Dine and Donate
A fundraiser for Family Promise will be held at the Fire Escape Coffee House, 312 Delaware Ave., Palmerton. The Dine and Donate event is from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday. A portion of your purchase will be donated to Family Promise.
Library board
The Palmerton Area Library board of directors will meet at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Library, 402 Delaware Ave.
Lenten lunches
First United Church of Christ, 457 Delaware Ave., Palmerton will be holding its Lenten Lunches at noon Wednesdays during the season of Lent, beginning Feb. 21. It is a great way to have fellowship and worship. This is free. There will be a goodwill offering. All are welcome.
Church members who would like to contribute either a lunch item or dessert, please contact the church office.
Lenten services
Five area churches including Jerusalem Lutheran, Jerusalem UCC, St. Matthews UCC, Salem-St. Paul Lutheran, and Salem United Church of Christ will join together each Wednesday evening during Lent for joint fellowship. On Wednesday the host church will be Jerusalem Lutheran Church. The theme will be “God’s Will and My Inadequacy.” The preacher will be Dorothy Hepner. A simple soup dinner will be from 6 to 6:45 p.m. and worship service will follow at 7 p.m. Choir rehearsal will be at 6:30 p.m. Host choir directors will choose an easy anthem. Choir members from all churches are encouraged to attend the rehearsal and sing each week.

Candy bingo
Raising the House will be hosting another candy bingo for students in the Palmerton Area School District. All ages are welcome. Students 10 and under must have adult supervision. The event will be held from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday in the S.S. Palmer Elementary School, 298 Lafayette Ave.
To play you must bring one full-size candy bar/candy item for each board played. Limit three per person. These items will be awarded as the prizes. Raising the House will supply prizes for the game specials.
Each student will receive a ticket for a free hot dog, drink and one bag of chips. Additional food available for purchase. Doors open at 1:30 p.m.
Train meet
The Carbon Model Railroad Society is sponsoring its Spring Train Meet from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 25. The meet will be held at the Palmerton Area High School Gymnasium, 3533 Fireline Road. This is a model railroad, toy train and railroadiania sale for the serious and amateur railroad and model train collector. Refreshments will be available. Plenty of free parking. There will be an admission charge. Bring your entire family, tell your friends.
Photo show
A photo show will be held at the Palmerton Area Library from 1 to 3 p.m. March 4 in the upstairs gallery. View and purchase photography. Refreshments will be provided by the Friends of the Palmerton Area Library. Call the library at 610-826-3424 for information and ticket prices.
Breakfast
An all-you-can-eat breakfast will be held from 8 a.m. to noon Sunday at the Bowmanstown Rod & Gun Club, 525 Club Road, Palmerton. Items include eggs to order, potatoes, ham, bacon, sausage, etc.
Wing, Taco, and Clam specials are every Wednesday night from 5 to 8 p.m. Dinners are served every Friday night from 4 to 8 p.m.
What’s It Worth?
An antique appraisal event, presented by Victorian Vanities, will be held at the Palmerton Area Library from 6 to 7:30 p.m. March 15. Items must be registered in advance. Call 610-826-3424. No more than two items per person. Only 40 items will be accepted for the show. There is a fee to register each item. The show is open to the public at no cost.
Spaghetti benefit
A spaghetti dinner fundraiser to benefit the David Thomas family supporting David in his fight against a rare autoimmune disease, will be held at 5 p.m. March 2 at the Aquashicola Fire Company.
The all-you-can-eat dinner includes spaghetti and meatballs, salad, dinner roll, drink and dessert. BYOB.
There will be a Chinese auction, basket raffle and lottery board. Any donations are appreciated and can be dropped off at Bossard’s Board Works in Palmerton. Call 484-629-3375 for information.
Basket social
Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 500 Church Drive, (Trachsville) Palmerton, is holding a spring basket social and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 10. Food and refreshments, basket raffle and bake sale, and door prizes.

Dandelion dinner
Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 500 Church Drive, (Trachsville) Palmerton, is holding a ham and dandelion dinner from 3:30 to 7 p.m. March 24 at the church.
Tickets are sold at the door. Takeout is available.
The church is located off Route 209 behind Towamensing Fire Company.
