A Palmerton man has been charged withs drug activity after a raid on his home Friday afternoon.

Raymond Sitler, 27, of the 200 block of Avenue A, faces charges of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to an affidavit of probable cause filed by Agent Kirk Schwartz of the Attorney General’s Office, with Detective Kevin Buck of the Palmerton Police Department:

As part of an ongoing investigation into methamphetamine and heroin distribution, police learned that Sitler, also known as “Fresh,” was distributing methamphetamine and heroin in the Palmerton area.

A warrant was served at Sitler’s residence and he was located in the basement of the residence and taken into custody without incident.

Items seized from inside the residence include about 9 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine, numerous new, unused small zippered bags, a electronic digital scale and $363.

Sitler said that he was solely responsible for the methamphetamine and assorted paraphernalia located inside the residence.

A field test was conducted on the suspected methamphetamine and the substance will be submitted to the Pennsylvania State Police Crime Laboratory for further analysis.

Sitler is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing at 10:15 a.m. Feb. 21 before District Judge William Kissner of Palmerton.

He remains incarcerated in the Carbon County Correctional Facility in lieu of $7,500 straight bail.
