Pleasant Valley high closes due to bomb threat

Pleasant Valley High School was closed today due to a bomb threat.

The school was closed as a precautionary measure, though students who were already on buses were transported to Pleasant Valley Middle School, according to a message posted on the school website.

High school faculty and staff were also to report to the middle school.

Superintendent David Piperato released the following statement, “The safety concern is specific to the high school.

“All other district schools are safe for students and staff. We will be providing additional information as it becomes available.”

A police car was present on the high school campus.

All other schools in the district were open.
