State police at Lehighton report on incidents

State police at Lehighton reported on the following incidents.

• A Jim Thorpe man who allegedly shoved a Jim Thorpe woman and grabbed her arm is facing harassment charges. State police were called to investigate the incident at 10:12 p.m. Jan. 21 along Bowman Road in Penn Forest Township. No names were released.

• Steven Berger, 29, of Tamaqua, was arraigned before a Carbon County magisterial district judge for having violated a court-issued Protection From Abuse order and housed in the Carbon County Correctional Facility, Nesquehoning. Police said they responded to a report of an active PFA violation at 2:10 p.m. Jan. 22 along Lower Nis Hollow Drive in East Penn Township, and took Berger into custody without incident. The victim is a 79-year-old Lehighton resident.

• Two women engaged in a verbal altercation at 2:59 p.m. Jan. 24 in the 600 block of Bottom Road, Polk Township. A 52-year-old woman from Stroudsburg was cited with harassment. It is alleged she struck a 23-year-old woman from Kunkletown, causing scratch marks on the victim’s left cheek. Police did not release any names.
