State police at Lehighton said a 24-year-old Saylorsburg man is facing charges after fleeing police during an incident at 6:06 p.m. Jan. 26.
The incident happened when police observed a silver Mitsubishi Eclipse crossing the double yellow line and then continuing on the left side of the road after it turned onto Silver Spring Boulevard from Route 209 in Polk Township.
Police said a traffic stop was initiated but the vehicle failed to stop, resulting in a chase during which time the vehicle made numerous traffic violations. The pursuit was discontinued due to visibility issues on Lower Smith Gap Road, but the suspect was identified through the investigation and will face charges.
