A 40-year-old Kunkletown man is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol as a result of a traffic stop made by state police at the Lehighton barracks at 9:42 p.m. Jan. 27 in the area of the Gilbert Road, north of Route 209, in Chestnuthill Township.
Police said the man was stopped for having made a traffic infraction, after which time police said it appeared he was DUI. It was also learned he was driving while his operating privileges are suspended because of a prior DUI charge.
The man was taken for a blood-alcohol test, the results of which are pending.
