Schuylkill County court

A woman who lived in Tamaqua will spend time in jail after being charged with drug violations by two Schuylkill County police departments.

April L. McGeehan

, 30, for whom no current address was listed, was charged by Rush Township police with intent to possess a controlled substance by person not registered; use/possession of drug paraphernalia; resisting arrest; and retail theft on April 1, 2016.

Schuylkill County President Judge William E. Baldwin revoked her probation and sentenced her to six to 12 months in jail.

In another case, McGeehan was charged by Coaldale police with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia on Aug. 5, 2016.

Baldwin sentenced her to six to 12 months, to be served concurrently with the other sentence.

Baldwin also sentenced a Saylorsburg man on drug charges.

Frank Randolph

, 29, of Saylorsburg: Charged by Rush Township police with intent to possess a controlled substance by person not registered and use/possession of drug paraphernalia on Aug. 13, 2013.

He pleaded guilty to the paraphernalia charge, and Baldwin sentenced him to three to 12 months in jail, effective Feb. 7.

In other Schuylkill County court rulings, judges sentenced people charged by local police.

Mariah L. Lewis

, 24, of Summit Hill: Charged by Coaldale police with use/possession of drug paraphernalia and manufacture of a controlled substance on May 3, 2017.

Judge James P. Goodman dissolved the bench warrant against her and set bail at $2,500 percentage.

Daryl L. Greenawalt

, 55, of Lansford: Charged by Coaldale police with driving under the influence — third offense; DUI: highest rate; disregarding traffic lanes; careless driving; and failure to use safety belts by driver and passenger on Feb. 21, 2017.

Greenawalt pleaded guilty to DUI and failing to use a seat belt.

Judge Cyrus Palmer Dolbin sentenced him to 30 days in jail with work release, effective Feb. 9. That will be followed by four years and 11 months on intermediate punishment.

Dolbin also ordered Greenawalt to pay a $1,500 fine, a total of $5,300.44 in fines, fees, and court costs, and his license was suspended for 18 months.

He also ordered Greenawalt to complete DUI school, perform 20 hours of community service, and install an ignition interlock system on his car.

Thomas F. Symons

, 27, of Friedensburg: Charged by Rush Township police with speeding and possession of a small amount of marijuana on June 1, 2017.

Judge Cyrus Palmer Dolbin fined him $500 on the marijuana charge. The remaining charge was dropped.

Christy L. Catone

, 29, of Jim Thorpe: Charged by Tamaqua police with driving under the influence — first offense; DUI: highest rate- first offense; driving without a license; driving the wrong way; failure to obey a stop sign; and careless driving on Aug. 8, 2013.

Judge Charles M. Miller revoked Catone’s parole and sentenced her to complete her original sentence of five years on intermediate punishment.
