Customers who eat at the McDonald’s in Hometown will have to wait a little longer for a more present-day drive-thru experience.

McDonald’s USA LLC was scheduled to appear before the township’s zoning hearing board on Tuesday in search of a variance from a section of the township zoning ordinance.

Instead, the hearing was continued.

McDonald’s seeks relief from a section of the zoning ordinance to permit four digital menu boards in lieu of the maximum allowed amount of two. Currently, there are three existing; four were proposed.

The McDonald’s is located at 3 Lincoln Drive, on the western side of the intersection of Lincoln Drive and Mahanoy Area.
