State police at Frackville said Karanvir S. Ghotra, 26, of San Antonio, Texas, was operating a 2018 Freightliner tractor with trailer southbound at 10 a.m. on Route 61, just past the Schuylkill Mall Road, in Blythe Township.

As Ghotra attempted to negotiate a right curve in the road, he lost control due to the snowy conditions. The trailer began to jackknife, went off the east side of the road and struck two signs.

The rig came to rest facing west blocking both southbound lanes. The road was closed for a period of time.

Ghotra was not injured. He was cited for the crash.
