A vehicle left a Schuylkill County roadway on Monday morning and crashed into a county restaurant causing extensive damages.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said the crash occurred about 9:29 a.m. along Route 61 southbound in West Brunswick Township. Jonathan Cruz-Herrera, 28, of Reading, was driving a 1996 Lincoln Town Car when it left the road and entered the parking lot of the 3C’s Restaurant. It continued through the lot for about 300 feet before striking a concrete barrier head-on. The Lincoln pushed the barrier into the restaurant causing major damages. The impact site was the main entrance.

The restaurant’s dining area was full with customers but is located in an area away from where the impact occurred. No one in the restaurant was injured. Cruz-Herrera was injured and taken to the West Reading Hospital for treatment.
