Palmerton Area Library’s annual art show and luncheon is set for Sunday, promising plenty of creative compositions and more.
Hosted by the Friends of the Library, the show will run from noon to 3 p.m. Admission is $7, and will include a spread of sandwiches, soups, salads, fruit and veggie trays, and desserts.
The collection of water color, acrylic, oil and pastel paintings will be on display for purchase for two weeks following the event.
Prices for each piece are set by the artist, with 20 percent of the proceeds going to the library. Library director Diane Danielson said that the money from ticket and painting sales helps fund several projects at the library, including the summer reading program.
“Usually, we get over 100 people. Between the entrance fee and the paintings we sell, it’s a pretty good fundraiser for the Friends of the Library,” Danielson said, pointing out that the group’s contributions are critical to their programs. “We really appreciate that.”
Anyone interested in participating in the show can still drop off their own art at the library until 5 p.m. Friday.
