The man who would have been president of the Panther Valley Irish-American Association was honored posthumously with the office last night. They had planned to name and install Edward J. McNamara of Lansford, but the funeral director died Wednesday night in the Sacred Heart Medical Center, Allentown.
A silent prayer was said in his memory by the association members who gathered at the Elks Lodge, Lansford, to elect officers.
Robert Ames of Coaldale, vice president nominee, accepted the post of president and treasurer. Among the other new officers are John Barry, Nesquehoning, Robert Crampsie, Summit Hill, and Archibald MacDonald, Tamaqua, vice presidents; and Richard Hoben, Lansford, secretary.
