A traffic stop in Monroe County has led to the arrest of a New Jersey resident on drug charges.

State police at Fern Ridge said Laseth Michael Copper, 26, of Georgia King Village, Newark, was stopped at 5:46 p.m. Jan. 1 along Interstate 80 westbound in Tobyhanna Township for a traffic violation. At the stop Cooper was found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana and prescription-grade cough syrup. Charges were filed.
