State police at Frackville reported investigating a crash involving a truck tractor and trailer and car along Interstate 81 in Frailey Township, Schuylkill County, on Tuesday caused by road conditions.

Troopers said Candace A. Walston, 31, of Raleigh, North Carolina, was driving a 2007 BMW southbound in the left lane while Antonio L. Torres, 48, of Kissimmee, Florida, was operating a 2016 Volvo truck in the right southbound lane. Walston was attempting to pass Torres when her vehicle slid on the slushy road and struck the trailer portion of Torres’ rig.

Walston sustained a minor injury and was taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Pottsville Campus, by Minersville ambulance. Torres was not injured. The BMW had to be towed.

Troopers cited Walston for the crash.
