KeyBank provides $700K in grants to nonprofits
KeyBank, with headquarters in Cleveland, Ohio, has made a $700,000, multiyear commitment with two $50,000 grants to the Community Action Committee of the Lehigh Valley and Communities In Schools of the Lehigh Valley. In addition, KeyBank is renewing a six-year, $100,000 per year grant to assist the Housing Association and Development Corp. of Allentown’s efforts to revitalize distressed Allentown neighborhoods. The three grants further the bank’s commitment to supporting and improving the neighborhoods in which it operates through support for workforce development and training, access to affordable housing and credit, and programs that improve quality of life for residents.
CACLV will use the KeyBank Foundation grant to combat poverty in the Lehigh Valley by providing low-income individuals with access programs that meet basic needs, while also encouraging self-sufficiency. With this grant, CACLV will fund five programs that improve the economic well-being of low-income individuals.
CACLV’s community efforts are in align with KeyBank’s “neighbors” funding priority, which focuses on grants that create prosperity through advancing affordable housing, economic inclusion and building stable, safe communities.
The $50,000 grant to Communities In Schools of the Lehigh Valley will be used to expand services at the Allentown ReEngagement Center. Through its three major funding priorities — Neighbors, Workforce Development and Education — KeyBank Foundation aims to help families access affordable housing, achieve economic self-sufficiency, help small business owners grow revenue and ensure individuals develop necessary skills to lead fulfilling, economically sustainable lives. KeyBank Foundation has advanced the concept of “Thriving Communities” across the United States since the Foundation was established in 1969 and first brought that philanthropic commitment to the Lehigh Valley through its acquisition of First Niagara Bank one year ago.
