Trinity happenings
Sunday worship at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., begins at 9:30 a.m., includes service of healing and blessing of the prayer shawls. Prayers and the “laying on of hands” are said for those to help ease one’s emotional, physical and spiritual burdens. Prayer shawls are handmade by volunteers, and are to be used in times of joy or sorrow and ordinary times during daily faith practices. The prayer shawls are available at no cost. The Rev. Nancy Moore presides. Vicar Richard Bergen assists.
First Tuesday Quiet Communion is at 10 a.m. Jan. 2.

Sunday Church School for students ages 3 through sixth grade resumes Jan. 7.
For those desiring to seek membership at Trinity or arranging a baptismal date, an appointment can be made with Pastor Moore by contacting the church office at 610-377-4303.
Trinity is hosting a community New Year’s dinner of pork and sauerkraut Jan. 1 in Luther Hall. Snow date: Jan. 2. This free event is dine-in only with seating at noon and 1 p.m. Reservations are required. Deadline to register by calling the church office is 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 29.
Bethany EC Church
Bethany EC Church, 222 North St. holds Sunday worship with the Rev. Jeff Stansbury, pastor.
Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m. with classes for all ages, including adult Bible study class, fellowship time at 10:15 a.m., morning worship at 10:45 a.m., preschool nursery available and Jr. Church provided for children in kindergarten through sixth grade.
Wednesday: prayer meeting, 7 p.m.
Thursday: Men’s Bible study at McDonald’s, 5:15 a.m.
