Palmerton man faces charges on corruption of minors
A Palmerton man allegedly provided marijuana to a juvenile boy in exchange for sexual favors.
Timothy Robinson, 32, faces charges on corruption of minors.
According to the affidavit of probable cause filed by Detective Kevin Buck of the Palmerton Police Department:
Buck received a call on Nov. 13 from a woman who said that her son had been having sexually explicit conversations with a male identified in his phone as Timmy Turner.
The woman said that through these conversations, it had appeared that Robinson had also been supplying her son with marijuana, and that the messages imply that the marijuana was being traded for sexual favors.
The woman then provided Buck with copies of the messages and the phone number that was linked to Timmy Turner.
Through the course of the investigation, it was found that the phone number was linked to a male identified as Timothy Robinson.
On Nov. 16, Buck met with Robinson for an interview in reference to this incident.
Upon his arrival, Robinson was provided with his Miranda warnings, which he signed and waived agreeing to speak with Buck.
Buck reviewed the allegations with Robinson, and recited to him some of the text messages that Robinson and the juvenile had exchanged.
Buck asked Robinson several questions about the incident, to which he answered each one and insisted that there were never any sexual favors exchanged for the marijuana.
Robinson added that the most he had received was a picture containing a male’s genitalia, and he was not even sure if it was the juvenile’s or not.
Robinson said that he knew what he was doing was wrong, but went along with it until he claims the juvenile became annoying, and then he just gave him marijuana so he would leave him alone.
Robinson provided Buck with a written statement.
Robinson is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing at 9:15 a.m. Jan. 10 before District Judge William Kissner of Palmerton.
