A Jim Thorpe man has been arrested for rape.
Jim Thorpe Police Department arrested Thomas L. Gehres Sr., 69, who is charged with the rape of a 19-year-old woman at his home on Sunday morning.
Borough Detective Lee Marzen said Gehres has been charged with rape; rape with threat of forcible compulsion; involuntary deviate sexual intercourse; sexual assault; aggravated indecent sexual assault; indecent assault forcible compulsion; indecent assault without consent; and incest.
Marzen said Gehres was video arraigned in front of District Judge William Kissner of Palmerton, who set bail at $200,000, 10 percent.
Gehres is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing at 1 p.m. Jan. 3 at the office of District Judge Eric Schrantz of Jim Thorpe.
He has also been charged with a separate offense of indecent assault involving the same victim during the summer at his home in Jim Thorpe.
