Care Net of Carbon County, located at 531 Mahoning St. in Lehighton, will be offering a series of parenting classes beginning next month.
“Engaged Parenting — Creating a Lasting Impact” will help parents develop confidence, and will include researched, relevant topics, as well as guidance.
Topics include: immunizations, emotion coaching, routine illnesses, pediatric emergencies, developmental milestones, speech screening, ready to learn, preventing child abuse, quality child care, child abuse/neglect, toilet training, sleep, co-parenting, learning through play and domestic violence.
There will be 12 two-hour sessions. The first session will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Jan. 4 at the center. Each family will earn one package of diapers per class as well as $50 in Daddy dollars and $50 in mommy dollars, that may be spent at the center.
