James A. and Kathleen Valentine of Tamaqua celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary on Nov. 24. They were married in Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tamaqua, with the Rev. Charles Schlitzer as officiant.

Mrs. Valentine is the daughter of the late William and Bertha Cool. Her husband is the son of the late James and Florence Valentine.

The couple has two daughters, Marsha, wife of Jim Bynon of Tamaqua, and Cynthia, wife of Greg Hinkel of Lebanon; and four sons, Craig of Tamaqua, Mark and his wife, Charleen of Hometown, Kenny and his wife, Karen, of Quakake, and James and his companion, Aaron Morgan of Birdsboro.

They also have 14 grandchildren (one deceased); 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

A family celebration was held on Thanksgiving Day honoring the couple.
