A Monroe County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence following a crash at 12:25 p.m. on Nov. 28 along Weir Lake Road in Chestnuthill Township.

State police at Fern Ridge said Wayne E. Yerkie, 52, of Saylorsburg, driving a 2003 Ford Escape, failed to maintain his lane of travel and went onto the berm where the Escape struck an embankment with the left side, then a tree at the top of the embankment. The Escape then rolled over and came to rest on its right side.

Yerkie was flown to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest for treatment of injuries. Troopers added that DUI charges are pending.
