A home invasion incident early today in Schuylkill County has left a county resident with serious injuries.
State police at Schuylkill Haven said the incident occurred about 3-3:30 a.m. on East Line Street in Tremont borough.
Troopers said two men entered the home of a 73-year-old man. One of the two struck the victim with a metal object, causing serious injuries to his eye and face. The same man then bound the resident with duct tape while the second removed cash, coins and some personal items from the home.
Stewart was taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital East, Pottsville, for treatment.
The investigation into the incident is continuing.
